The inaugural 1% Final happened in May 2026. Competitors were selected. The best setters in the country headed to Knoxville for 5 days of intense, elite combine-style competition and coaching from the top volleyball minds in the world.

ABOUT THE NATIONAL 1% FINAL COMBINE

WHERE THE BEST GET DECIDED

THE EVENT

The 1% Final is a 4 to 5 day elite training and championship residency held annually in Knoxville, Tennessee at K2 Volleyball Club. The top performers from regional Elite ID Combines earn their way here. Flights and accommodations are covered.

This is not a tournament. It is not a camp. It is a full residency — 8am to 8pm, every day — built to find the most complete setter in the country.

The 12 best junior-class setters in the nation train and compete alongside Olympic setters, national champions, and professional players across four disciplines: technical, physical, mental performance, and leadership.

Evaluation is continuous. On-court mechanics, college-style pressure reps, film sessions, physical testing, and off-court leadership challenges — including leading a youth clinic — are all part of the residency.

At the end, one male and one female national champion are named.

In 2026, every moment was documented by a full docuseries production crew on site for the entire event. The beginning of something permanent. On record.

    Pro setter currently with Trefl Gdańsk, Poland. Back-to-back Best Setter in France's Ligue A and 2025 French League MVP.

    At the University of Hawaiʻi, he was AVCA All-America First Team, NCAA Championship All-Tournament Team, All-Big West First Team, and won the Off the Block Lloy Ball Award as the nation's top setter.

    Two-time AVCA First Team All-American at UCLA. Has competed professionally across France, Poland, and Turkey, winning the Turkish Championship in 2024.

  • NICKLIN HAMES

    GIRLS LEAD COACH AND EVALUATOR

    Nebraska Volleyball's all-time assists leader with more than 5,000 career assists. 4x AVCA All-American. Associate Director at K2 Volleyball Club, the home of The 1% Final. Nicklin coaches and evaluates athletes across all sessions, with a focus on what separates a good setter from one who can run a championship-level offense.

    TJ SANDERS

    BOYS LEAD COACH AND EVALUATOR

    10-year Canadian National Team setter. 2x Olympian. Vakifbank Offensive Coordinator. Assistant Coach -Canadian National Team

    TJ brings some of the deepest professional setting experience to The 1% Final, working on court and in the film room with the nation's top male setters and evaluating the nuance and adaptability that defines the position at the highest level.

    SPORTS PERFORMANCE DIRECTOR

    Director of Volleyball Sports Performance at SMU. 100-31 record across 4 seasons. 6 All-Americans and 5 MLV draft picks developed. Anthony builds the physical foundation for every athlete's game in Knoxville, teaching setters how to translate power from the weight room directly to the court. Every athlete leaves with a physical blueprint they can use long after the residency is over.

    JORDHYNN GUY

    MENTAL PERFORMANCE DIRECTOR

    Former professional setter who competed at the University of Calgary and professionally in Sweden and Israel. Jordhynn holds two master's degrees in Counselling Psychology and Conflict Resolution and has spent more than seven years working with elite-level athletes on the mental skills that hold up under pressure. At The 1% Final, she works with athletes across the full residency on nervous system regulation, resilience, and the mental habits that define the position at its highest level.

    2025 NCAA National Champion at Texas A&M. Pro setter with LOVB Houston. Led the nation in assists per set at 11.50 and set a Texas A&M program record with 1,357 assists in 2025. Maddie works directly with athletes throughout the residency, bringing a national champion's perspective on what it takes to perform when everything is on the line.

    2025 AVCA Freshman of the Year, the first Kentucky Wildcat ever to receive that honor. 2025 SEC Freshman of the Year. 2nd Team All-American. Led Kentucky to the National Championship game in her first college season. Kassie works with athletes on what it takes to earn a starting role and compete at the highest level from day one.

    Stella Swenson was one of the most decorated high school setters in the country before becoming a U21 National Team member and standout at Minnesota. She brings a perspective that bridges elite club volleyball and the college game — exactly where The 1% Final athletes are headed next.

    Setter at the University of Louisville. ACC Freshman of the Year 2024. 1st Team All-ACC 2025. Honorable Mention All-American 2025. Nayelis stepped into college volleyball and competed immediately at the national championship level, and she brings that firsthand experience directly to the athletes in Knoxville.
